Another Hokie football season is about to kick off and I can’t wait. Alabama will be a great opponent and no one thinks we can win, which is how I like it. For the first time in several years I consider our O-line a strength. We have more career starts on the line than most any team in the nation. That means there is very little these boys have not already seen in their career. Our running backs are inexperienced, but so are theirs, and I think we have more and better backs. The defenses will be a wash. Both are tremendous. I give the nod to Bud over Nick. <br/>I was watching the 1998 VT vs Miami game the other night. Miami went up 13-3 at half time. Our offense could not get ANYTHING going in the first half. As usual Frank and Bud made adjustments at the half. BAM. VT shut them down in the 2nd half. It did go to OT, but when it counted, the “D” sacked Covington twice and knocked them out of field goal range. This was a team with E. James, Reggie Wayne, Dan Morgan, Bubba Franks. They were stacked with future NFL’rs The point is this. Alabama is a great team. If we can keep it close at half, the staff will make adjustments and we will make a move after half time. Prediction VT 24 ALA 17.<br/><br/>LET’S GO...<br/><br/>HOKIES!!!
